The in-mouth design is low profile, requires no adhesive and is compatible with facial hair! Starter kits include a carrying bag, stand, and optional “X” tape to help keep the SomnoSeal in place (if needed only). If not using CPAP, patients must be able to breathe through their noses. Recommend replacing the SomnoSeal every 90 days per the biocompatible material recommendation.
I'm a doctor and I love the Somnoseal!
I'm a doctor and my practice is exclusively airway orthodontics. I see 3-year-olds up to any age. I had double jaw surgery myself five months ago and the results have been excellent: my airway is 12 times bigger. BUT, lip taping has been a real challenge because my longer jaws drop open farther (yes, I'm doing myofunctional therapy) and the tape has to be more extensive and is put under more tension, which hurts the skin. Anyway, the Somnoseal has changed all that. I breathe exclusively through the nose because the Somno seal works so well. A small piece of tape, just like before my jaw surgery, is all it takes now. What sizes are available?
The SomnoSeal comes in small, medium, and large sizes. The most common size is Small, followed by Medium. The Starter Kit comes with both Small and Medium sizes as online sizing is challenging. Besides increased mouth size, wider mouth opening during sleep will require a larger sized Seal.
How often do I replace the SomnoSeal?
Replace the SomnoSeal after 90 days of use. This is based on testing of the biocompatible material.
Is it okay to use the SomnoSeal without my CPAP?
As long as you can breathe through your nose, you can use the SomnoSeal without CPAP to encourage nasal breathing.
